These haircuts, styles, and trends are going to be huge in 2022. Some are brand spanking new, and others are welcome returns of hit styles from the past that should have never left us. But what are they and who should get which cut? Here are our suggestions as recommended by top stylists:

☀ Money pieces

The money piece is a bright frame around the front hairline personalised after foiling or lightening. It’s a super-flattering look because it brightens your face, accentuating your facial features, and your own base hair color – in other words, a money piece looks good on EVERYONE.

☀ Curtain bangs

Straight out of the ’70s curtain bangs are where the fringe is styled with a part down the middle, framing your face on each side. They’re usually on the longer side and have wispy, soft ends, giving them a laid-back feel. A square-shaped face gets the most from this classic style.

☀ Balayage

Balayage is a technique for highlighting hair in which the dye is painted on in such a way as to create a graduated, natural-looking effect. Basically taking a page out of Maybellines tag line, and making people wonder if you were born with it. This is another look that ANYONE can rock because it works around your natural features to highlight your natural beauty, we are smelling a theme for 2022 – just you being the best YOU!

☀ Medium length shag

A shag cut is characterized by choppy layers, fringe bangs, a center part, and lots of volume on top. If you are a curly girl – this look was made for you. The vibe is chill and beachy while still being gorgeous. (.. and not to mention the movement of curly hair makes it a sexier cut)

☀ Auburn’s

True Auburns are a variety of red hair, most commonly described as reddish-brown in color or dark ginger. We always recommend auburn’s to clients with neutral pale skin tones, it prefers a balances tone to a warm or cool tone, but this spicy colour has been known to surprise. So, if you’re curious, we say go for it.

☀ Healthy luscious curls

Curls look good on everyone but here is a rule of thumb when it comes to curls. If you have a long face shape, larger curls, and shorter hair will be a more flattering choice for you. If your face is slim and small, curls that are too large might overwhelm your features, so go for smaller curls. The most important thing to keep in mind with curly hair is hair health. Regularly apply a hair masque and get trims often from a stylist who knows your hair.

☀ Pixie with blunt bangs

This cut is a short haircut between one-half to three inches long that is styled with a fringe cut straight across the forehead. This cut is most suited to heart-shaped or oval face shapes. This look can also flatter a square face shape if done right, to highlight the jaw, but it’s important to make sure that the stylist won’t make you look too angular.

☀ Box bobs

A box bob is a chin- to shoulder-length length, can optionally be worn with a slight bevel in the hair or bangs, and is cut classically blunt – that is, the tips are cut compact, straight, and less fringed. This cut was MADE for people with oval face shapes, it is basically a face-lift for your hair so older women can also benefit from this fashion-forward cut.

☀ Rainbow colours

There are so many new colour combinations that have hit our TikTok and Insta feeds that make us squirm with envy. A cheeky and fun colour choice is great, but specifically for those who pay a lot of attention to their hair and have the time to maintain it. We will not advocate for Mrs. Roots over there. Much like adopting a beloved pet, you have to take care of it. This look, when done right, also looks good on everyone because it is so fun. The only thing you need to have to rock this look is confidence.

Which one of these contemporary looks will you be making a booking for this year?
